The First Vegan Bus Tour For Sydney, Australia

In conjunction with the International Vegetarian Union (IVU) 43rd World VegFest, Veg Travel Guide will be hosting Sydney’s first vegan sight-seeing bus tour. This exciting all day tour will take in some of Sydney’s most iconic sights, attractions, and delicious vegan foods. Participants will also be supporting Sydney Wildlife and their amazing work!

We spoke to the organiser of the tour Zarah Kerley of Veg Travel Guide yesterday to find out what inspired her to organise the tour:

“My original inspiration to organise Sydney’s first 100% vegan sight-seeing tour came from joining Veg Voyages on a vegan adventure in India back in 2011. I had the best time and thought it was so wonderful to be able to enjoy a trip that aligned with my ethics. I have dreamed of creating something similar in Sydney ever since. I’ve been a vegan living in Sydney for almost 8 years – I love this city and its ever-growing vegan scene and would love to share this with others. When Bob told me about the 43rd World Vegfest coming to Australia and approached me about organising tours, I thought it was the perfect opportunity! I’m also working on launching food walking tours of Sydney’s vegan hotspots (eating all of the vegan food wherever I go is one of my favourite pastimes!)”

  1. I think this is wonderful and would so love to come!!! However I am emceeing a new booklaunch by 2 vegans called Monkey Business (immenently to be announced) – it’s at Gleebooks and if the tour is keen to come along, have a glass of vegan wine and vegan nibbles donated by vegan businesses, this could make an enhanced new tour! And we could mention this new initaitive from the stage. Please advise.

  2. Incidentally, when I say ‘enhanced new tour’ I mean this would be an extra stop to an already fabulous itinerary – would fit nicely after hte Cruelty Free Shop

  3. Hi Guys, So annoying I cant seem to find a contact phone number hope you receive my email:-)

Sounds great. Please advise what is the early bird price of a ticket and does the ticket include the price of sampling at the tour vegan eat outs? If not what does the price cover?

    Thanks,Eve

    • Hi Eve thanks for getting in contact! The early bird price is $96.50 + booking fee. This price covers private bus transport for the day, vegan lunch from Funky Pies, vegan dinner at Lentil As Anything, refreshments, afternoon snack from Addiction Foods, a donation to the Rocks Discovery Museum, and a donation to Sydney Wildlife. Sydney Wildlife have kindly offered to deliver an educational talk for us and we’ll get to visit some of their rescued animals! There are also some fabulous vegan businesses who have donated products to be given away as prizes on the day.

The first part of the tour will have a sight-seeing focus (visiting the Rocks Discovery Museum to learn about the unique history of the area, and then Circular Quay). After this we’ll board the bus and head to Bondi for lunch. From there we will be driving to the wildlife rescue rehabilitation centre and possibly another animal rescue organisation (TBC!) In the afternoon we’ll head back into the city to visit the Cruelty Free Shop, which will be offering some chocolate tasting and be opened exclusively for us. We’ll then head to dinner at Lentil As Anything. The ticket price includes all food/activity/transport throughout the day. If you have any questions feel free to send them our way at vegtravelguide@gmail.com

We will soon be launching vegan walking tours which will focus more on vegan food and samples (ticket price will include this).
